Symptom

  • You are connecting an SAP Business System to PI
  • In the connecting Business System the error 'Unable to refresh cache contents' is displayed in transaction SXI_CACHE 
  • This error is only relevant if you are using Point to Point Communication or the WS-Adapter
  • Double clicking on the error shows the following more detailed exception
    Error when reading exchange profile parameters
    com.sap.aii.connect.directory.name for section Connections
