Symptom

When Migrating Service, system throws below error message:

"Service call failed; report an case"

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center
  2. Go to Overview view
  3. Search for the Migration of Services activity
  4. Choose Migrate services using the migration tool
  5. Highlight the file to be migrated 
  6. Choose Execute Migration Step by Step
  7. Error "Service call failed; report an case" is thrown at simulation step

Cause

There could be multiple causes for this issue. One possible cause is entering the same Company ID more than once in the Valuation sheet.

Resolution

To overcome the issue, it is advised to clean source data by ensuring that only one entry for each company is present in the template. By doing so, the migration process can be carried out smoothly without encountering any problems.
