1884542 - [ASE Error SQL1204] ASE has run out of LOCKS - SAP ASE for Business Suite and SAP BW

Symptom

  • Your application reports a message with error 1204:

    [ASE Error SQL1204]ASE has run out of LOCKS.
    Re-run your command when there are fewer active users, or contact a user with System Administrator (SA) role to reconfigure ASE with more LOCKS.
  • In situations where the SAP system hangs and is stalled due to SQL1204 error, please see KBA 2203739

  • For SAP BW
    • You are currently experiencing serious locks situations in the SAP BW system that let the system as unusable.
    • Database becomes unresponsive even to commands on ISQL command line.
    • You already checked and implemented those KBAs
