1886775 - Error 'Time type Actual hours worked only allowed for planned employee times' When Registering Employee Time Type

When editing a Time File for an employee and including Time Type as 'X - Actual hours worked' (X represents the Time Type ID), the following error message occurs:
'Time type Actual hours worked only allowed for planned employee times'

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Time Administration work center.
2. Go to Employees view.
3. Search Employee ID.
4. Click Edit.
5. Go to the Employees Times Tab.
6. Click Add Row.
7. Include your Start Date.
8. Include your End Date.
9. Under the column Time Type include your reference which is X -Actual hours worked.
10. Error: Time type Actual hours worked only allowed for planned employee times.

The error message is triggered because your Time Type which is X -Actual Hours Worked, is marked as Relevance for Work Schedule and planned working time category is maintained as Core Time in Business Configuration.

To do time recording for Time Type X -Actual Hours Worked planned working time category of this time type should be Productive Time and not Core Time.

Steps to change the Time Type:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Implementation Projects view.
3. Select First Implementation.
4. Click Open Activity List button.
5. Go to Fine-Tune phase.
6. Find activity Time Types – Mexico (If your scoped country is Mexico) and open it.
7. Click Maintain Employee Time Types.
8. Under the column Time Type select X -Actual hours worked and change the Time Type Category from Core Time to Productive Time.
9. Save and Close.
