1889582 - How to interpret the "State" information in the state file of the database mirroring - SQL Anywhere

Symptom

We have recognized that the state of the primary server, from a SQL Anywhere database mirroring (High Availability) environment, becomes "synchronizing" as soon as the mirror server shuts down or becomes unavailable for other reason.

Why does is say "synchronizing" even though it cannot be in process of synchronizing as the mirror is no longer available.
