Symptom

Already approved Sales Quotes do not trigger the approval process again if there is any change in the Validity Dates.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the New Business work center.
  2. Go to the Sales Quotes view.
  3. Show All Quotes and Find XYZ (XYZ represents the ID of the sales quote).
    • The sales quote XYZ is already approved once.
  4. Edit the sales quote XYZ and choose View All button.
  5. Change the Validity Dates in the General tab.
  6. Save the sales quote.
  7. System do no trigger approval process again for the sales quote XYZ.

Cause

Changing the validity date after a sales quote is already approved will not change the approval status again and will not trigger the approval. Changes that affect the Price/Net Value of the quote will trigger approval again.

Resolution

This is the expected behavior of SAP Business ByDesign.
