1895330 - Design questions on using Security Policy of HTTPLoginModule - SUP/SMP

  • User is creating REST Based online Odata proxy SAPUI5 application and they are using HTTPLoginModule( BASIC authentication) to authenticate user to the backend SAP system.
  • In development and QA they did not face any issue as they were using username and password of Gateway system to authenticate, but in production they have Active Directory integration for SAP Netweaver Gateway.
  • User has single sign on to login to the SAP NetWeaver Gateway system itself, so it uses the domain credentials to grant user access, but user does not have the web portion setup yet for single sign on.  So, for example, when user tests oData service in production through the SAP NetWeaver Gateway OData Channel Administration General Settings Activate and Maintain Services and provide their domain user name and password, authentication fails.

What are other possible options of authentication for the user?
