1898689 - Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) 2.2 is running into a socket limit of the IIOPS port

Symptom

Customer changed IIOPS port to 2000 and IIOP port to 2001.  The customer then  changed the ports back and still saw the same issues.

  •  SCC  and Mobilink Server are not able to communicate properly (all data sync's stopped)
  • MLSRV_Err.log shows:

2013-07-24 11:48:14.360 ERROR Mobilink Thread-551 [com.sybase.ml.sup.Logger] [] [] [-10030] A network read failed. Unable to read data from the remote client
2013-07-24 11:48:14.360 ERROR Mobilink Thread-551 [com.sybase.ml.sup.Logger] [] [] [-10091] This connection will be abandoned due to previous errors
2013-07-24 11:48:16.268 ERROR Mobilink Thread-551 [com.sybase.ml.sup.Logger] [] [] [-10030] A network read failed. Unable to read data from the remote client
2013-07-24 11:48:16.268 ERROR Mobilink Thread-551 [com.sybase.ml.sup.Logger] [] [] [-10091] This connection will be abandoned due to previous errors

  • SCC Agent.log shows:

Get cluster connection from localhost:2000 fail: com.sybase.uep.admin.client.AdminException: com.sybase.djc.SystemException: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached)

  • Netstat is showing hundreds of open connections between SCC and various components along with a large number of TIME_WAIT connections.
