Symptom

  • You are upgrading your system and Software Update Manager stops in phase MAIN_SWITCH/EU_SWITCH with an error
  • In EU_SWITC.ELG :
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ANALYSIS OF LOG FILE '/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/log/EU_SWITC<##>.XUT'
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ERROR: Found pattern "TPERR-" 1 times, but expected 0!
    Analyze the log file for further error messages or program abort.
  • In EU_SWITC<##>.XUT:
    tp_exec_statement: RENAME "<TABLENAME" TO "<TABLENAME>~~OLD"
    TPERR- ORA-26563: renaming this table is not allowed
