1899907 - Holiday Configuration - Victoria Day in Canada, the Last Monday Before the 25th of May

Configuration Requirement: Victoria Day has to be set to the Last Monday before the 25th of May in any calendar year for Canada.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Overview view.
3. Find and select activity Working Day Calendar.
4. Select the Open button.
5. Select Maintain an existing holiday calendar.
6. Select the holiday calendar Canada (General) and select the Next button.
7. You will see an Information Dialog pop up. This can be ignored as we are only trying to view the calendar. Select the OK button.
8. Select Victoria Day and Display.

It can be seen that in the SAP delivered holiday calendar for Canada, Victoria Day is configured to be the third Monday of May.

This is a constrain with the current release of Business ByDesign.

The issue will be fixed by SAP in one of the future releases of Business ByDesign.

However until then, as a workaround a new holiday calendar can be created for Canada. And in that a new holiday can be added to replace the current configuration for Victoria Day.

To so so, kindly follow the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Overview view.
3. Find and select activity Working Day Calendar.
4. Select the Open button.
5. Select Create a new holiday calendar.
6. Select country Canada and check Use General Holiday Calendar template for selected country.
7. Select the Next button.
8. Supply an appropriate name for the calendar.
9. Select Add Row button in the List of Holidays section.
10. Create a holiday with the following details:
    a. Name: Victoria Day
    b. Description: <An appropriate description>
    c. Class: Ordinary Public holiday
    d. Type: Fixed Day of Week
    Select the second radio button with rule Monday After or on the 18 of May.
11. Select the OK button.
12. Select the newly created holiday in the calendar and remove the default holiday Victoria Day.
13. Select the Next button and confirm.

A corresponding working day calendar can be created and this new holiday calendar can be assigned to it.
