1900640 - What will happen to Data Services if the repository DB server is down

Symptom

  • In CMC, Data Services repository list shows empty for a long time.
  • Data Services Management Console shows empty for a long time.
  • Get the information from Data Services Management Console: Repository <Repository Name>: The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed. java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect
  • From Data Services Server Manager, Cannot delete the associated repository and get error: Cannot open connection to the repository. The error message from the underlying DBMS is <ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <Server Name> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.>.
