1901371 - ASE Backup Server error 4.22.1.1 "Option RETAINDAYS is not valid for device..." when using configured dump for Tivoli Storage Manager

Symptom

When creating a configured dump using sp_config_dump for use with Tivoli Storage Manager and specifying a number of days for retention of backup files

  • Attempts to use the configured dump profile fail with SAP Sybase Backup Server error 4.22.1.1 and Sybase ASE error 8009:

Backup Server: 4.22.1.1: Option RETAINDAYS is not valid for device
'syb_tsm::model.DB.20130711.155334.000::000'.
Msg 8009, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'ase157sp100', Line 2:
Error encountered by Backup Server.  Please refer to Backup Server messages for
details.
