After an upgrade of a SAP system not NW (Example: ERP, CRM, SRM, EP, BW, etc), to a release based on Netweaver 7.03 or 7.31, the system still have the START and INSTANCE profiles separated, contrary to the information found in SAP note 1326576.
In the ABAP/log directory of SUM, MRGPROFCHK.LOG or MRGPROFPUPG.LOG will not be avaliable.
Also, in ASKSWITCHES.LOG file, you can find similar entries like this:
1 ETQ399 System has still a start profile.
2 ETQ399 No conversion for 'ERP' systems.
