1901927 - How do you resolve "XML Deserialization error" when consuming a SAP BusinessObjects BI Web Service or QaaWS using a strictly-compliant Web Services Consumer?

Symptom

  • Deployment of SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x Platform or SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1
  • A Query as a Web Service (QaaWS) against an Universe or BI Web Services within a Web Intelligence document is created. 
  • The WSDL for the Web Service is consumed without error with a strictly-compliant Web Services Consumer tool.
  • When consuming data, the strictly-compliant Web Services Consumer throws an error.  For example, the SAP WS Navigator tool throws the error:

    XML Deserialization error.XML is not valid.  Element [Element Name] <header> is required in <GetReportBlock_wsname_wsResponse> but cannot be found.
