1902347 - Unable to start database with startsap - SAP ASE for Business Suite

The startsap command fails to start the database server:

• In case of an AS ABAP based SAP system:

% startsap

• In /home/<sid>adm/dev_syctrl log we see:

check user switch.
setuid failed, errno=1 (Operation not permitted)
s-bit is not set for sybctrl executable: use SecureStore to retrieve ASE administrator and password.
pid , group pid -1.
ERROR: no terminal foreground process group.
