1904593 - Creation of Shopping Cart by Service Agent

Both Employees as well as Service Agents can create Shopping Carts.

This KBA will highlight the points of Shopping Cart creation specific to Service Agents.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Logon as a Service Agent.
2. Go to Project Management work center.
3. Select Common Tasks - Go Shopping.
4. Enter the name of an Employee.

The system raises the error Company Missing.

Both Employees and Service Agents can create shopping carts from ByDesign. However the following points differ when a service agent is the creator of a Shopping Cart.

• For Employees:

An employee can always procure for himself by creating a shopping cart from the Home work center.

Employees can also create shopping carts on behalf of other employees and service agents from all the three work centers: Home, Project Team and Project Management.

Note: You cannot create Shopping Carts for Service Agents using the Value Help.  however typing the Service Agent ID in the Employee field and click on enter button on your key board, system allows the Shopping Cart to be created.(There is on influence forum already so please vote for it to be developed soon https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/269152)

• For Service Agent:

A service agent assigned with Project Team or Project Management work center can only create shopping carts on behalf of an employee.
A service agent, if not hired as an employee can create shopping carts on behalf of an employee only using the functionality Go Shopping (Advanced) from Project Team or Project Management work center.
A service agent who is hired as an employee can create shopping cart for himself using the functionality Go Shopping in Home work center and also on behalf of other employee using option Go Shopping (Advanced) from all the three work centers: Home, Project Team and Project Management.

When an employee creates a shopping cart on behalf of another employee using Go Shopping (Advanced), the system picks the creator as the recipient so the address of the org unit assigned the the creator is picked.

In case the creator is a service agent, the system behavior is the same and the system will throw the error message Company Missing.

If you assign an Organizational Unit to the Service Agent, they can create shopping carts from the Home work center for themselves as well.
