1904826 - Connect via SAPUSER not supported for kernel >= 740 - error in upgrade

Symptom

There is a running system Upgrade and it stops with the following error message:

*** ERROR => Connect via SAPUSER not supported for kernel >= 740

Please notice that this error can happen in any phase that requires a call do the database, like:

PREP_INPUT/DBCONNCHK_INI
"<html><body> <p><em>ERROR:</em>The new SAP tools in /usr/sap/d2dadm/SUM/abap/exe cannot connect to your database.</p>"

PREP-INPUT/KX_CPYCHK
       "4 ETW000 [ dbsloci.,00000] *** ERROR => Connect via SAPUSER not supported for kernel >= 740. 18 0.006407 4 ETW000 [ dev trc,00000] Only Secure Connect method possible."

CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
"Import phase 'CHECK_REQUIREMENTS' (14.05.2013, 11:28:09) Error during executing the tp command 'tp CONNECT SCU ...' tp return code: '0200' , tp message: 'ERROR: see tp's stdout (Standard Out may not be av' , tp output: ERROR: Connect to SCU failed (20130514112809, probably wrong

PREP_INPUT/SQLDB_LIST_AVERS 
"ERROR: Connect to MPE failed (20130826132024, probably wrong environment)."

Among others, unable to proceed with the Upgrade.
