1905790 - Error:"There was a problem sending the command to the program", while opening an Excel file from user's Desktop in SAP BI 4.0.

Symptom

  • A Crystal Report exported to an Excel format does not open when trying to on User's Desktop. User gets below error message while opening an Excel:

    Error: There was a problem sending the command to the program.

  • However file opens without any issues if we open it through File >> Open in MS Excel.
