Symptom

  • While comparing physical i/o against database log devices between 2 ASE servers, it is noticed that the i/o rates for the devices belonging to one of the servers are extremely high.
  • The data volume and transactions running against both ASE servers is identical.
  • What could be the possible reason for this huge difference in physical i/o on one v/s the other?
