1908282 - DUMP DATABASE or DUMP TRANSACTION fail with error 7221 "Login to site xxx failed" " - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • You are performing backups with DUMP DATABASE or DUMP TRANSACTION commands but command execution fails with error 7221:

Msg 7221, Level 14, State 2:
Server '<DBSID>', Line 1:
Login to site 'SYB_BACKUP' failed.

  • In the Backup Server log file, you find following detailed information at the time of the failed backup:

Backup Server: 3.42.1.1: DUMP is complete (database <dbname>).
Open Server Error: 5704.10.0: Changed client character set setting to 'utf8'.
Backup Server: 2.24.2.1: The host '10.0.0.1' is not authorized to connect to this Backup Server.
Backup Server: 2.6.2.10: Login information unavailable.
Backup Server: 2.24.2.1: The host '10.0.0.1' is not authorized to connect to this Backup Server.
Backup Server: 2.6.2.10: Login information unavailable.
