1908957 - Backup Server version differs from ASE version associated with it after applying patch - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Applied a patch for Sybase ASE 15.5 64-bit (or other 64-bit ASE version)
  • Following patch application, although the ASE version string shows 64-bit, the Backup Server shows 32-bit.
  • For example, note the difference in EBF number following patch installation:

ASE version:
 
     Adaptive Server Enterprise/15.5/EBF 20632 SMP ESD#5.2/P/Sun_svr4/OS 5.8/asear155/2602/64-bit/FBO/Sun. Dec 9 08:36:27. 

Associated Backup Server version:
 
     Backup Server/15.5/EBF 20626 ESD#5.2/P/Sun_svr4/OS 5.8/asear155/3350/32-bit/OPT/Sun Dec 9 08:36:27.
