1910119 - How do you change the default MM/DD/YY format used for Date Dimensions from SAP BW BEx queries in BI 4.x Web Intelligence?

Symptom

  • SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x deployment of Web Intelligence reporting off a SAP BW BEx query via BICS driver.
  • The query contains a Characteristic of Date type.
  • The default format for the Dimension for the Characteristic when used in a Web Intelligence document is MM/DD/YY.
  • This format does not correspond to the Presentation format for the Characteristic as defined in SAP BW.
  • This format is not correct for many locales.  Specifically problematic is the two-digit year.
  • There is no way to alter the default date format for Web Intelligence reporting via BICS.
  • How can the default format be changed?
