1910611 - Error SQL30046 "Connection to Sybase server has been lost" - SAP ASE for BS

Symptom

  • Connections to the ASE database fail persistently.
  • The developer trace for the failing work processes shows:

[ASE Error SQL30046:08S01]Connection to Sybase server has been lost. Connection died while writing to socket. Socket returned error code 10053. All active transactions have been rolled back.

  • The corresponding errors in the ASE server errorlog show a signal 11 is encountered in kbfalloc() routine.
