1910748 - How to reset cache wash size in ASE?

Symptom

  • If cache wash size is changed manually, it will remain at that value until the user manually changes it again
  • Reducing the size of the cache to below the wash size will cause the cache resize to fail and error 5867 will be reported:

    sp_cacheconfig "default data cache", "10M"

    Msg 5867, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'server_name', Procedure 'sp_cacheconfig', Line 1704:
    The wash size for the 2k buffer pool in cache default data cache has been incorrectly configured. It must be a minimum of 10 buffers and a maximum of 80 percent of the number of buffers in the pool.
