1911972 - How to Display Empty Data from the BEx Query in Crystal Reports?

Symptom

Not able to get the same number of Rows in Crystal Reports as when the Query is executed from the Bex Analyzer.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2011
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Launch Crystal Reports.
  2. Go to File >> New >> Blank Report
  3. In the Database Window click on Create New Connection
  4. Select the Data Source : SAP BW MDX Query
  5. Select the SAP System
  6. Enter the details for the SAP System
  7. Click on Finish
  8. Now select the BEx Query from the Connection and create the report
  9. You will not be able to see the Empty Data from the BEx Query.

Cause

  • The Extended Logon Parameter : "Show Empty Data" is not checked

Resolution

  1. Launch Crystal Reports 2011
  2. Go to File >> New >> Blank Report
  3. In the Database Window click on Create New Connection
  4. Select the Data Source : SAP BW MDX Query
  5. Select the SAP System
  6. Enter the details for the SAP System
  7. Click on Next
  8. Now the Extended Logon Parameters window will appear
  9. Check the Show Empty Data option.
  10. Click on Finish.
  11. Now select the BEx Query from the Connection and create the report
  12. You will be able to see the Empty Data from the BEx Query.
