Symptom
In Analysis for Microsoft Excel, When you filter values on a hierarchy, if select all children nodes of a hierarchy, the parent node will be selected automatically.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.8
Cause
This is an intended behavior of Analysis Edition for Microsoft Office.
Resolution
This behavior can not be changed in Analysis Edition for Microsoft Office.
The formula "SAPSetFilterComponent" or the macro "SAPSetFilter" can be used to enter the
children without automatically selecting the parent as a workaround.
For example:
Set Cell A18: =SAPSetFilterComponent("DS_1","0COMPANY","ALL","MULTIPLE"), then input the values in Cell A18 directly.
Please do not click the filter mark of the formula "SAPSetFilterComponent" to select the values, otherwise the parent node will be selected automatically in the filter dialog (the same with the normal filter dialog).
