Symptom

A connectivity error including the content below is returned when trying to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server from any/all of the following Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) components. The SUP Server, the Sybase Control Center (SCC) and SUP Eclipse Workspace.

  • JDBC data source class com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDataSource not found
  • JDBC data source class com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDataSource Load Failed

This will usually be in the form of an ERROR entry in the SUP server log, An entry in the Eclipse error log view, or a pop-up dialog in the SCC.

A similar Vendor-specific error could also be seen for other JDBC connections like Oracle or DB2.
