SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

1916283 - Input to merge join #[xx] from child #[xx] not ordered as required OR Input to group by #[xx] from child #[xx] not ordered as required - SAP IQ

Symptom

Running a query returns one of the following errors:

  • "Input to GROUP BY #[xx] from child #[xx] not ordered as required." 
  • "Input to MERGE JOIN #[xx] from child #[xx] not ordered as required." 

The error message looks similar to this example:

I. 12/27 14:09:04. 0000723897 Exception Thrown from dfo.cxx:10625, Err# 0, tid 20 origtid 20 
I. 12/27 14:09:04. 0000723897 O/S Err#: 0, ErrID: 9216 (df_Exception); SQLCode: -1006001, SQLState: 'QBA01', Severity: 23 
I. 12/27 14:09:04. 0000723897 [20239]: IQ Internal error. Please report this to Sybase IQ support. Input to GROUP BY #15 from child #48 not ordered as required. Key: FPVALUE(FPORDINAL(RANDOM_00311212.D2X023_2008`(7), 3))

The stack trace includes the text "dfo::ValidateOutputOrdering".
