1919235 - "Syntax error in routine" of a migrated transformation/during migration or installation from the BI Content

Symptom

  1. The structure of a datasource or an infoprovider is changed and the activation of the already migrated transformation fails with the error message
    "Start Routine: Syntax error in routine"
    Message no. RSTRAN527
  2. An update/transfer rule is migrated, and the migration fails with one of the error messages below:
    • "Rule (target: XXX group: 01 Standard Group): Syntax error in routine"
    • E:Field "L_DUMMY" is unknown.
  3. The installation of a transformation from the BI Content via RSOR fails with the following error message:
    RSTRAN527 Start Routine: Syntax error in routine
    The activation log might contain some additional information like this:
    RSTRAN060 Rule X of transformation YYY () is not valid and is being deleted
  4. Transporting a migrated Transformation to a BW/4HANA system, fails with a syntax error. Opening the TRFN in the GUI shows an error like this:
    In PERFORM or CALL FUNCTION "ROUTINE_9998", the actual parameter "SOURCE_PACKAGE" is incompatible with the formal parameter "DATA_PACKAGE"
  5. The routine of a migrated Transformation is changed. After saving the Transformation, the check/activation fails with a syntax error. Beside this, opening the routine again some of the content is duplicated. For example the method START_ROUTINE is defined twice and sections, which should not be editable (greyed out) are editable.
