1928346 - Is it Possible to Filter/Search Products Using Parent Product Category Hierarchy?

You have a requirement to list the Products based on the Parent Product Category but couldn't able to find a relevant option in the system.

For Example: You have a Product Category Hierarchy as below:

ABC

-> A1

-> A2

There are many products assigned to A1 and A2 and your requirement is to fetch all the Products of A1 and A2 when you search with Product Category ABC since it a parent for A1 and A2.

This kind of filtering is not possible for Product Category in specific.

The reason for this is as follows,

The relation between the Product and the Product Category is 1:1. That is, only one product category can be assigned to a particular Material.

The Hierarchy in the Product Categories view is to display, which Category is created under which parent product category but when it comes to materials then is 1:1 mapping.

So, when you try to search for materials using Product Category then only the Materials which have the respective Category will be displayed.
