1929890 - Errors 10834 and 5849 when activating LDAP - SAP ASE

Symptom

The following error messages were encountered when trying to activate LDAP in SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE):

1> sp_configure "enable ldap user auth",1
2> go

Msg 10834, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'x_xxxx', Procedure 'sp_configure', Line 712:
Configuration parameter 'enable ldap user auth' can not be enabled without license 'ASE_DIRS'.

Msg 5849, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'x_xxxx', Procedure 'sp_configure', Line 712:
Verification failed for parameter 'enable ldap user auth'.
