Symptom

When upgrade using SUM tool, got the following error during the PREP_SPACECALC/TABSPC_PREP phase:

  • scenario 1

BR0252E Function fopen() failed
for '/oracle/<SID>/112_64/dbs/init<SID>.ora' at location BrInitOraRead-1
BR0253E errno 2: No such file or directory
BR0158E Error reading Oracle profile /oracle/<SID>/112_64/dbs/init<SID>.ora"

  • scenario 2

BR0252E Function fopen() failed for './dbs/init<SID>.ora' at location BrInitOraRead-1
BR0253E errno 2: No such file or directory
BR0158E Error reading Oracle profile ./dbs/init<SID>.ora
