Symptom

You get a warning message when you add a product in a sales order: No quantity conversion from Each into possible; check product data.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales Orders work center.
  2. Select New Sales Order from Common Tasks.
  3. Enter the Account ID and go to the Items tab.
  4. Add product XYZ (XYZ represents the ID of the product).
  5. A warning message appears: No quantity conversion from Each into possible; check product data.

Cause

A discount list applies to the product XYZ, but no unit of measure is maintained in your discount list for this product.

Follow the below steps to check the discount list:

  1. Go to Product and Service Portfolio work center.
  2. Go to Pricing view.
  3. Go to Discount Lists subview.
  4. Select the relevant Discount List.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Go to Items tab.
  7. Select the line for product XYZ.
  8. In the Scales table, you can see that the Scales prices maintained for product XYZ have no Unit of Measure.

Resolution

  1. Go to Product and Service Portfolio work center.
  2. Go to Pricing view.
  3. Go to Discount Lists subview.
  4. Select the relevant Discount List.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Go to the Items tab.
  7. Select the line for product XYZ.
  8. In the Scales table, you can see the Scales prices maintained have no Unit of Measure and you cannot add it as it is greyed out.
  9. Keep note of the Scales prices maintained for this product.
  10. In the Products table click Remove to remove the product XYZ.
  11. Click Add Row and add the product again.
  12. In the related Scales table click Add Scale.
  13. For the first Scale price input the quantity as 0 and in the column From input the Unit of Measure (e.g. EA).
  14. Repeat the same for each scale.
  15. Save the Discount List.

Then you can correct the existing documents by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Sales Orders work center.
  2. Go to Sales Orders view.
  3. Find a Sales Order affected.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Go to Pricing tab.
  6. In the Total Pricing section, click Update Pricing > Keep Manual Change.

The inconsistency will be resolved and the new sales orders will not have this issue.
