1933204 - OutOfMemoryError due to Adapter Engine Performance Monitoring in PI

Symptom

  • Process Integration (PI) Java Server nodes are restarting due to OutOfMemoryError (OOM).
  • The following suspects are reported in the Eclipse Memory Analyzer tool (MAT).
    The thread com.sap.engine.core.thread.impl3.SingleThread @ 0x256caf9e8 Application [56] keeps local variables with total size <number of bytes (#%) bytes. The memory is accumulated in one instance of "java.lang.Object[]" loaded by "<system class loader>".
  • The stacktrace for this thread shows the following
