1934568 - Multiple CEP Studio Libs: When enabling the ESP 5.1 SP03 RFC Adapter, users find two com.sybase.cep.studio.libs_5.1.0 directories instead of one-ESP

Symptom

  • During an upgrade from SAP Sybase Event Stream Processor 5.1 service pack SP02 to service pack SP03, the installer fails to delete the old com.sybase.cep.studio.libs subdirectory from the %ESP_HOME%\studio\plugins directory. This results in two com.sybase.cep.studio.libs_5.1.0 directories appearing in the plugins directory: 1) the cep.studio.libs directory from the new SP03 install (v201308011504); and 2) the cep.studio.libs directory from the previous SP02 install (v201304180022). However, only the directory from the latest install should appear in this location.

  • Finding two com.sybase.cep.studio.libs directories causes confusion when following the procedures for Enabling the RFC Adapter for the SAP Sybase Event Stream Processor version 5.1 SP03. For example, in Step 7 of these procedures, the user is instructed to copy the sapjco3.jar files into the $ESP_HOME/studio/plugins/com.sybase.cep.studio.libs_5.1.0.v(date) directory. However, these instructions do not specify a particular version of this directory. Consequently, users do not know which directory to copy their jar files into; the old one or the new one.
