Symptom

Running a Bex query, a user runs into the error message:

Object requested is currently locked by user (MC601, MC 601)

This occurs frequently with the following scenarios:

  • Broadcasting several instances of the same query in parallel or in short sequences.
  • Scheduling reports with many instances of the same Bex query in Webi or Crystal or Design Studio or Lumira on the BI platform.
  • For queries with very complex definitions involving many structure elements.
  • Using SAC Dashboard that contains several widgets pointing to the same BW query
