Symptom

  • How easy to find report objects saved to repository?
  • Dependency Checker returns Warning: There are some bitmaps or text which are connected to repository.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2011
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013

Reproducing the Issue

Try to save report with objects saved to repository to another BI Server and get a warning.

Resolution

Repository objects should be disconnected from the report or saved to Destination Server repository as well.

The easiest way to find Repository objects is to use Report Explorer. Select View in the Top Menu and Click Report Explorer, expand report sections. Here is an example:

Text3 is not in repository, but RO_TestOLERep is repository object. Notice the object icon has a difference on the left side.
