1937612 - BI client timeout PCM data source

A report built of multiple nested dimensions in rows, columns and the page axis times out with the message "Session timeout warning: Your session will expire in 5 minute(s). Would you Like to continue your user session or log off?".

Other related symptoms include:-

1. The BI Launch Pad cursor will spin for several minutes not returning any data to the report
2. In the Windows Event Viewer application the following type of message is recorded against an EPMMDX source:

"EPMMDX : Name '[Target Responsibility Centers].[Target Responsibility Center Attributes].[my_cost_center_group1].[my_cost_center_group2].[my_cost_center_group3].[my_cost_center_group4].[my_cost_center_group5].[my_cost_center_group6].[my_cost_center_member1]' (Dimension 'Target Responsibility Centers', length 287) exceeds defined maximum of 256."

NOTE: In the example error message above the dimension "Target Responsibility Centers" could be any PCM dimension, not specifically this one. The dimension will have several nested levels within its hierarchy structure, and this contributes to the production of this message.

• SAP Analysis for OLAP

NOTE: This issue may affect any Business Intelligence client product which uses a PCM data source via the PCM MDX components.
