Symptom
- Using Automatic Table Maintenance (ATM) window to start a scheduled job, and then stop SAP application and ASE database, ASE may fail to shutdown.
- Using isql to connect to ASE and run dbcc stacktrace on user spid running shutdown, it would show the stack trace as in the following example :
1> dbcc traceon(3604)
2> go
DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact a user with System Administrator (SA) role.
1> dbcc stacktrace(95)
2> go
A SHUTDOWN command is already in progress. Please log off.
