1940015 - EPM Add-In : Error 'You have exceeded the maximum amount of axis tuples in an axis..." when creating a report

Symptom

When creating a report by selecting rows, columns and page axes you encounter any of the following symptoms:

An error message stating 'An unexpected error occurred, please contact your administrator."
You have exceeded the maximum amount of axis tuples in an axis, currently there are XXXXXX axis tuples, the limit is 150000.

The report being created may freeze, not allowing any further interaction and requiring Excel to be forcibly closed.
