Symptom
The consumer configuration looks correct. The option of Ping Web Service still returns HTTP error "Web service ping failed (RC=xyz)" and one of the error codes below:
- RC=405
- RC=400
- RC=401
- RC=415
- RC=307
- RC=403
- RC=500
In this context RC is the abbreviation of "return code" and in turn "return code" stands for "HTTP code".
For example.:
RC=405.:
HTTP 405 Method Not Allowed
The HTTP 405 Method Not Allowed client error response status code indicates that the server knows the request method, but the target resource doesn't support this method. The server must generate an Allow header in a 405 response with a list of methods that the target resource currently supports. Improper server-side permissions set on files or directories may cause a 405 response when the request would otherwise be expected to succeed.
