1948090 - Remote oracle database in another not trusted windows domain

Symptom

There is a SAP system installed in a windows domain. Additionally there is remote oracle database installed in another windows domain. Between these two domains there is no trust relationship. This remote database should be connected to the SAP system in the DBACockpit tool.

  1. If the parameter SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES is set to NTS in the sqlnet.ora of the remote oracle database, the remote connection is not working and the following oracle error appears:

    ORA-12638: Credential retrieval failed

  2. If the parameter SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES is set to NONE, the remote connection is working, but if any BR*Tools commands is started remotely with OPS$ authentication, the following oracle error appears:

    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

Remark: SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = NONE is not supported. Please do not use it.
