1948174 - On dd/mm/yyyy duration of absences 8h exceeds planned working time 4h during Time Recording

Symptom

You try recording time for an Employee and when you try entering the a new day with less hours as compared to the previous days the system throws an error On dd/mm/yyyy duration of absences 8h exceeds planned working time 4h.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Time Administration work center
  2. Select Employees view
  3. Select the particular employee and Click Edit
  4. Go to Time Profile tab
  5. Go to Work Schedule sub tab
  6. Select the option Individual
  7. Enter the entries

Cause

The system runs a cycle based on the first day or the hire day of the employee. If for example an employee works for three days in a week and has a day off for the other four days the system requires a cycle to be set for the first seven days. If you have maintained only three days then the system calculates the days as maintained and the next day though a day off for the employee will be considered as a working day by the system.

Resolution

  1. Go to Time Administration work center
  2. Select Employees view
  3. Select the particular employee and Click Edit
  4. Go to Time Profile tab
  5. Go to Work Schedule sub tab
  6. Select the option Individual
  7. Enter the entries for all seven days as per the normal schedule
