1949559 - The owner name of the table in subreport does not change in Crystal Reports

Symptom

  • When doing a Set Data Source Location of the main report and subreport the owner name is not changed for subreport.
  • Subreport still points to old owner after changing the data source.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • MS SQL Server 2008

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a report with a subreport based on the same SQL Server connection.
  2. Change the data source of the main report by going to Database tab.
  3. Select Set Data Source Location…
  4. Select the connection name under Current Data Source
  5. Create the new connection under Replace with
  6. Click on Update.
  7. The connection for main report and subreport is updated.
  8. On expanding the connection for the subreport the Owner Name is not changed.

Resolution

Update the connection for the main report first and then select the connection under subreport in Current Data Source and then update the connection for the subreport individually.
