1949781 - Granular permission "manage database" is not enough to alter database - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • If the "Granular Permissions" feature in ASE is on
  • With a user having "manage database permission"
  • This user executing alter database command will fail with:

    Msg 10331, Level 14, State 1:
    Server 'server name', Line 1:
    Permission denied, database dbname, owner dbo. You need the following permission(s) to run this command: OWN DATABASE
