1950241 - Why There Is a Difference Between Shipment Date And Delivery Date in Outbound Delivery?

In outbound delivery, why shipment date is different with delivery date automatically?

1. Go to the Outbound Logistics work center.
2. Access Outbound Deliveries view.
3. Select any Outbound Delivery ID and Edit it.
4. Select tab General.
5. Here it can be seen that under section Dates, Shipment Date is different with Delivery Date.

The Shipment Date in outbound delivery derives from previous document:

1. If the good issue is performed without task, during Post Goods Issue, there is a field Shipment Date automatically with current date and time. It can be changed manually. After Save, the value maintained here will be passed to Shipment Date in outbound delivery.
2. If the good issue is performed with task, during warehouse task confirmation, under tab Administrative Information, there is a field Actual Execution On automatically with current date and time. It can be changed manually. After Save, the value maintained here will be passed to Shipment Date in outbound delivery.

The Delivery Date in outbound delivery is the result of Shipment Date plus shipping duration of corresponding transport lane. For example, if Shipment Date is 2025-10-29 09:00 UTC, shipping duration in corresponding transport lane is 1 Day(s) 0 Hour(s), then Delivery Date will be 2025-10-30 09:00 UTC automatically.

The Shipment Date is the date when the goods are issued from the ship-from location, Delivery Date is the date when the goods should arrive at the ship-to address.

Following below steps to check shipping duration:

1. Go to the Supply Chain design Master Data work center.
2. Go to the Transport Lanes view.
3. Search and find corresponding transport lane.
4. Select the transport lane ID, in the below under tab General, there is a field Shipping Duration.
