1950323 - BI 4.0/4.1: In a cluster environment during heavy load some WebI schedules fail intermittently

Symptom

  • In a clustered environment, during a heavy schedule load some schedules of Web Intelligence reports fail with error message: "Could not open the file <PATH_TO_FILE_ON_OFRS>/FileName.wid".

  • In the Output FRS location mentioned in the error message there is file with a different name but the same time stamp as the schedule end time.
  • Quering for the failed instance object in Query Builder returns the following:
    • under SI_FILES>SI_PATH it has the same path as in the error message
    • under SI_FILES>SI_FILE1 it has the file found in that location, not the file from the error message.
  • Reschedule the same report is successful.
  • The following error is found in Job Server log:

"Could not open the file <PATH_TO_FILE_ON_OFRS>\FileName.wid."

  • The following error is found in Output FRS log:

"fileserver_SERVERNAME.OutputFileRepository.getEx3|localhost:6176:10032.679:1|CgHD5KBuQ0IRtzLo.24bMI496f|||||||||||FileSeqReader_impl::FileSeqReader_impl: Failed to open the file <PATH_TO_FILE_ON_OFRS>\FileName.wid. Reason: No such file or directory"

  • ProcMon logs show that Output FRS deletes the file mentioned in the error message (operation SetDispositionInformationFile Delete: True).
