Symptom

  • Many processes in latch sleep status and large number of spids stuck in latch acquisiton state - Event 41 in monProcessWaits
  • There is no contention on the server. Little server utilisation.
  • The issue seems to persist with the In Memory Database (IMDB).
  • DBCC STACKTRACE output of one of the spids waiting on a latch:
DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact a user with System Administrator (SA) role.
