1950926 - System cannot start due to login SQLServerException

Symptom

You are trying to start the J2EE engine without success. In the file traces you see the following exception messages:

  • dev_boostrap:
     
    JLaunchIExitJava: exit hook is called (rc = 66)
     
  • jvm_bootstrap and log_bootstrap_ID*.log:
     
    com.sap.engine.bootstrap.SynchronizationException: Database initialization failed! Check database properties!
    ...
    ----------==[ Caused by: ]==----------
    com.sap.engine.frame.core.configuration.ConfigurationException: Error while connecting to DB.
    ...
    Caused by: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Login failed for user '<your DB username>'.
