1953001 - Error 2799 when creating a table with compression - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Creating a table using 'with compression' or 'lob_compression' propery
  • Fails with error 2799:

    Msg 2799, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'ase', Line 1:
    'CREATE TABLE' command failed because 'COMPRESSION' is not enabled.
    A user with System Administrator (SA) role must reconfigure 'enable compression' to 1.
